YouTube has released a new version of its Apple TV app. The most important change is the rollback of the recently renewed appearance, following complaints from users.
Apple TV App Rejuvenated At The Latest
YouTube listened to its users and updated the Apple TV app for the second time in two weeks.Although: update may not be the correct word. The changes that the previous version introduced have been reversed.
The appearance of the app introduced last week is therefore out of the question. From now on, the channels on which you have subscribed will again be displayed in rows. This way navigation should be easier, YouTube says. It is also easier to search in videos for certain fragments. From now on you can use the Touchpad of the TV Remote to scroll through the video and immediately get a preview of the fragment in question.
Version 1.01.04 can now be downloaded for the Apple TV . Note: this only applies to the fourth and fifth generation.
YouTube Takes Complaints Seriously
Last week, YouTube introduced a completely new design for the Apple TV app. From now on, videos from your subscriptions were displayed horizontally in alphabetical order. In this way it can take a while before you arrive at a channel, which starts with the letter ‘w’.
Users immediately let themselves be heard and complained about the fact that this method of navigation was unnecessarily difficult. Some also encountered errors, with the navigation buttons, such as play and pause, no longer working well. New tabs were also introduced that match your specific interests, such as gaming and music. These tabs were inserted at the top but disappeared with the update.
YouTube introduced the new design to bring a more uniform appearance to all of its apps. For example, the browser version of YouTube works with ‘updated’ looks. On a Mac , however, it is easier to navigate through videos than on an Apple TV, as was frequently said online.
